Ingredients

  • 1/2 Recipe Flaky Pie Crust (Gluten-Free)
  • 1-2 Tbsp Avocado Oil
  • 1 Onion Medium
  • 1 Carrot Large
  • 5 Radishes
  • 2 Celery Sticks
  • 3 Red Potatoes
  • Seasoned Salt to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Basil
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Dehydrated Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Rosemary
  • 1 Tbsp Dehydrated Bell Pepper
  • 1-1.5 pints Turkey Bone Broth
  • Turkey Meat
  • 2 tsp arrowroot powder

Instructions

  • Make your pie crust recipe and have chilling in the refrigerator.
  • Add avocado oil to a medium pot on the stove and turn heat on to medium, medium/low.
  • Chop and add your vegetables to the pot. You can use any variety of vegetables you have on hand I am just sharing what I used in the video I made. I usually chop and add each vegetable in this order; onion, carrot, celery, radish, potato. This allows the onion and carrot to cook longer then the radish and potato. Stir Occasionally.
  • Add in salt, pepper and herbs of choice. I used seasoned salt, basil, pepper, smoked paprika, rosemary, dehydrated minced garlic and dehydrated bell peppers. Heat until veggies are translucent, and herbs are softened.
  • Add bone broth and turkey meat to the pot and allow to come to come to a boil.
  • Whisk in arrowroot powder one tsp at a time. Leave on heat for 3-4 minutes. Then turn it off and let it cool.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Remove pie dough from the refrigerator. Roll out bottom pie dough to an 1/8 to a 1/4 inch thick. You will want to roll it between 2 layers of parchment paper.
  • Fit pie dough into pie pan. Clean up any edges and fill any holes.
  • Roll out pie dough for the top of pot pie.
  • Whisk 1 egg and set aside.
  • Pour turkey and vegetables into the pie pan. You will want to move through the next steps quickly so your filling doesn't melt the butter in the pie crust.
  • Place top layer of pie dough over the pie and press into the edges. Remove excess dough and fill in any holes.
  • Brush egg wash over the entire top and edges of pot pie.
  • Slice a few vent holes into the top layer of pie dough. This will allow the steam to escape and stop your top layer of crust from breaking where you don't want it to.
  • Bake for 45 - 60 minutes at 400 degrees. Until top and edges are all golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  • Slice, Serve and Enjoy.

Notes

If your broth spills all over the place when you cut into your dough you did not have enough arrowroot powder for your broth.
